Cory Gardner Townhall on Friday: Let's Occupy a Townhall meeting!
With a late announcement meant to prevent you from knowing about it too soon, Gardner has finally announced a town hall for the Front Range, in Longmont. Make sure your voice is heard even though Gardner doesn't really want you there.
Cory Gardner announced a series of Town Hall meetings in Southeast Colorado nearly 3 weeks ago in his weekly newsletter, in Baca, Bent, Crowley, Otero, Cheyenne, Prowers, and Kiowa counties. Quite the list of Eastern Plains counties, all things considered. With those announcements, it looked like Gardner would not be visiting the Front Range, where he's not exactly been welcomed with open arms as of late.
Well, it appears he is visiting and will be at the Longmont Civic Center's City Council chambers (350 Kimbark St., Longmont) on Friday, October 21 at 8am. Obviously the very late announcement of this date was to prevent the organization of a massive crowd at the event.
If we didn't know about it, we couldn't very well plan to be there. I imagine the crowds that show up on the Plains are a little more receptive to the line he wants to feed them. I think he's afraid we might Occupy his townhall; let's.
Hopefully we can encourage the Occupy Longmont folks to get out there to Gardner's meeting and Eyes on Congress should probably be organizing something. But don't wait for someone to call on you to show up. Spread the word to get like-minded people to Gardner's town hall.
Also, today at 5:00pm at Gardner's Fort Collins office there will be the monthly vigil of Strength Through Peace (123. N. College Ave). Maybe some of them can get to Gardner's Friday event as well.
I won't be making it to tonight's vigil, as I'm in D.C. right now, taking in the sights on a rainy, rainy day. I stopped by Cory Gardner's office and got a photo of the placard outside his door.
Let's make sure we can get everyone we know to Gardner's Friday event to show him that we will be there even if he doesn't want us.
So remember, Friday at 8:00am in Longmont. Be there, as the questions that Gardner hasn't answered. For a brief rundown, take a look at the summary in my recent post: Vote for Cory Gardner as Villain of the House.
